In my state you need a license to carry.

No. In your state you need a committee to decorate lampposts and trees.

In my state (MA) we need a committee, a vote, an appeal, and then another vote to decide if we want to vote on anything. And then it gets taxed.

I appreciate that MA is not the exemplar for gun regs.

in that case, the problem isn’t with selling an item... but the out of control legal system that has been setting the ground work for such legislation.

a short time after the sale, the seller should be able to completely wash their hands of any responsibility.

how someone uses the product you sold them is not your concern. if it were, even selling a soda can to a potential criminal would make you liable (as you can easily beat someone to death w/ a few soda cans)

I should see that before I sell the person a handgun.

Participating in that state's infringement upon the second amendment? That takes away the inherent right.

Now if I bought a gun online, outside of ‘the system’, I wouldn’t be too worried about turning around and selling it online.

How many of the online sellers are in fact federal agents trying to entrap potential buyers? How many respondents to your ad are likely to be federal agents trying to entrap you into an illegal sale?

I never considered that. I’m by no means an expert on the law...but I believe if I can do a legal private sale, without any background check, if everything is in order.

It would be a little nerve racking, knowing that any small foul up could result in prosecution....so it would certainly lead to a lot of research effort, etc...maybe more research effort than its worth, since my FFL dealer will facilitate a sale for $15.

Well, ignoring it gets my permit revoked.

As I said, I support repeal of most of Mass’ gun laws. But until we do, I have to deal with it.

I understand what you are saying, and I agree with it. I also like my guns.

Only leftards think we should have greater background checks when we exercise our constitutional rights, but that it’s a crime to ask if someone is in our nation illegally.
