I could see this for Nurse Practitioners... the ones I have met have been better than the doctors they work with.

I have seen doctors ignore perfectly good advice from nurses, who have seen something that would be useful information for a doctor, if he were not too high and mighty to accept it from a lowly nurse.

I have seen this too. A few years ago took a kid with a sore throat to the Walgreens clinic. Both she and her mom thought she had strep. The nurse practitioner on duty took a swabbing and sent it to the lab for tests. Did not want to prescribe anitbiotics if it was not strep.

Two days later the test results were not back and the kid was still complaining of a sore throat. Mommy got her knickers in a twist and insisted on taking her to the ER. They wrote a script.

She took the antibiotics and the throat was still sore. The test results from Walgreens came back negative. She never had strep.
