The Left -- and particularly the Party of Jim Crow

A bridge too far. You can call the Jim Crow Boys many things, and I often do, but they weren't racists.

Their closest parallel in the European Right to Left spectrum of politics most commonly used, which doesn't really fit American politics well, is the old time blood and soil Right, which was one of the ideologies that went into forming that weird mishmash, fascism and national socialism.

The Democrat Party enacted the Jim Crow laws [under which blacks suffered from the 1880s to the 1960s] specifying racial segregation and separate-but-[supposedly] equal. If that is not racist to you, oh well...

The Democrat Party has always held that blacks cannot manage their lives w/o help from the White Man.

The Republican Party [the Party of Abraham Lincoln] has always held that the law should apply equally regardless of race and that everyone should be empowered to see to their own needs.
