G-d chose the People. He did not choose my ancestors. My ancestors chose to become one with The People.

Those who in their confusion profess Christ and hate Jews do not know Christ, a Jew. Nor do they accept the One True G-d who calls His People by name.

Civilizations are the trains that ride the tracks of time. You are either on the train or you aren't. Either you maintain the train or it breaks down and your civilization ends. If your civilization is mobile and flexible, then when the train is destroyed you learn to ride a bike. When the bike breaks, you run for a while and hitch a ride. When the tide floods the tracks, you build a boat. When the water dries, you slowly and patiently build another train.

I pray when the American train breaks down we'll learn to ride a bike and then if necessary ... to build a boat. Jews offer the map and the way - they've been on this path a long time. We're thankful for the warnings.

Pish. The comparison is not to an American who renounces his citizenship, but to an American who loathes his country and undermines it.

And there is still a continuum of valid Jewish criticism of Israel’s actions and policies, to Jewish loathing of Israel, making a side-branch for those Jews who live in Israel, hate Arabs, and yet do not believe in the legitimacy of the state of Israel, because they have not seen God’s hand in its creation.

Not to mention, the whole article very much brings up the question of potentially conflicting loyalties.

There are no self-hating Jews. There are Jews who hate the Jewish People. Their hatred excludes them from the thing that they hate.

Greenfield is normally great, but I think he's trying too hard on this one. And why?

Being able to identify and tag the self-loathing is a very useful thing is this day and time. They are the ones who turn on their heritage and can become the most dangerous and damaging to the heritage they rejected and came to hate.

The guilt-ridden, self-loathing white American is one of the most dangerous types in the USA; the same for their white corollaries in other Western nations. They give us 'whiteness studies" and massive immigration from the Third World, and they are at the root of most anti-American causes in the USA.

We need ways to identify and tag these self-loathers because they often become the most vicious and damaging to the heritage they rejected.
