No expert at all should be the standard for folks trying to use Free Republic to promote their blog.
For the most part, you are right.
I’d make an exception for writers who work for a blog/magazine/paper that requires excerpts of everyone.
Just a personal opinion, but I’d probably make an exception for some charitable organizations— wounded veterans, childhood cancer, etc.
