What if we all just went home? What if we turned off the cameras? Would the protestors disappearespecially all the out-of-town agitators who have descended on the Missouri town just to make trouble?
The answer is, probably, yesand yet that cant and wont happen.
Im not suggesting for a second that the killing of Michael Brown and the eruption of anger and violence in Ferguson isnt a hugely important story. But we all know how the massive media machine, once it clanks into action, changes the very thing on which it is reporting. The journalistic invasion of Ferguson is absolutely inflaming the situation on the streets, drawing troublemakers who want the exposure. They see the bright lights, they see correspondents who are openly sympathetic to the protestors, and its become a nightly reality show.
Of course, every news organization wants to be there. And for Fox or CNN or ABC or CBS to just pick up and leave would be meaningless, because everyone else, including freelancers and bloggers, would remain behind.
There has been some solid street reporting by journalists who have had to dodge tear gas, rubber bullets and at least one cursing cop issuing threats. Some have also had to deal with taunts and rock-throwing from demonstrators. It can be dangerous work....

Oh, I think if a big name like Fox pulled out it would have an impact. It would become the NEW STORY. The journo commies actually hope the cop gets off so they can get another 2-3 weeks of post-trial coverage when the animals start burning and breaking things again.
Yeah right. As if the media is going to slit its own throat.
It lives for crap like this..........
And just as real.
Oh, I'm not saying there aren't people getting hurt, that things aren't getting stolen or destroyed--they are.
But the media propagated concept that somehow, a white policeman decided to confront an innocent and mercilessly gun him down in broad daylight while he was trying to surrender is an apparent fiction, and yet that fiction is what is driving the reality of destruction.
Instead of the media stepping up to the plate and doing their best to condemn the destruction, they have been justifying it, and in doing so they present us all with the story of hubris run rampant in the face of contrary facts, to the degree that the violence will persist--not just in Missouri, but wherever it can be further incited.
If that isn't a crime, it ought to be.
There's the real story.
I have noticed a new swing to modern so called journalism. The bias is no longer enough, now they are actively inserting themselves into the story rather than pretending to report.
If you recall, there was a whole slug of movies where the reporter was the story, or influenced the outcome directly. No longer content to be an observer, reporter, or investigator, they have become instigators, fellow travelers, and evince a desire to be a central figure in events.
The thug's crime spree and short life is in no way the least bit important. The eruption of anger and violence is merely manufactured and made into a self serving story by the msm and those who want their 15.
One of the Fox reporters said a week ago Ferguson had become “It’s about us.”
First the media cover the story. Then the media BECOME the story? Remember Jessica McClure, the little girl who fell down the well? It was a local interest story until the media frenzy exploded. Then the story became less about Jessica McClure than about the huge reaction to her falling in a well. These “racially charged” incidents are largely the same thing. Who really cares about Trayvon Martin or Michael Brown? A bunch of looters bussed in from Oakland? The Revs Al and Jessuh? Eric “Dick” Holder?
Uh huh.
Journalists, spotlight seekers, and politicians use events like these as career boosters, nothing more.
If it bleeds, it leads. No way the SRM will let this story go away. Got to keep the bros stirred up until 2016.
Pull the plug please!!!
My take on it Joe is that all the reporters are still there because they have the ‘Command Center’ as a safe haven to regroup and refresh each day. If the command center completely shut down and went away, leaving the media on their own, they would promptly skedaddle! Otherwise, they would be overrun by the ferals clamoring/fighting for their facetime in front of the cameras. The ones that don’t get stolen that is.
Pull the plug on the rabble rousing anti american scum media
