Who Lost the Cities? There is more wrong with Ferguson than the Brown case.

AUGUST 15, 2014 Who Lost the Cities? There is more wrong with Ferguson than the Brown case. By Kevin D. Williamson

The Reverend Jesse Jackson is, to the surprise of all thinking people, right about something: “A spark has exploded,” he said, referring to the protests and violence in Ferguson, Mo. “When you look at what sparked riots in the Sixties, it has always been some combination of poverty, which was the fuel, and then some oppressive police tactic. It was the same in Newark, in Chicago, in Detroit, in Los Angeles. It’s symptomatic of a national crisis of urban abandonment and repression, seen in Chicago.”

A question for the Reverend Jackson: Who has been running the show in Newark, in Chicago, in Detroit, and in Los Angeles for a great long while now? The answer is: People who see the world in much the same way as does the Reverend Jackson, who take the same view of government, who support the same policies, and who suffer from the same biases.

(snip) Newark, Detroit, Chicago, Los Angeles — and Philadelphia, Cleveland, and a dozen or more other cities — have a great deal in common: They are the places in which the progressive vision of government has reached its fullest expressions. They are the hopeless reality that results from wishful thinking.

Ferguson was hardly a happy suburban garden spot until the shooting of Michael Brown. Ferguson is about two-thirds black, and 28 percent of those black residents live below the poverty line. The median income is well below the Missouri average, and Missouri is hardly the nation’s runaway leader in economic matters. More than 60 percent of the births in the city of St. Louis (and about 40 percent in St. Louis County) are out of wedlock.

” - - - -Who lost the Cities?- - - - “

Certainly NOT Revs. Jackson and Sharpton, as they have been racial and moral leaders in the Black Communities of ALL of the cities and towns in America for decades, and decades!

Whenever there has been a problem Jackson and Sharpton have always arrived quickly and solved all problems - - - just ask them!

Just think what America could become if either Jackson or Sharpton were to be appointed by Obama as head of Homeland Security?

I’m really sick of hearing about poverty being the big driving factor at work in these riots.

The looters all seem to be loading their loot into very nice, expensive late model cars and trucks - nicer than the car I drive to tell the truth .

One of the jerks and probable looters who was interviewed about the burning of the QT smugly said ,”I was there and that’s all I am gonna say” and discussed how the “deprivation” of the blacks in the community as justification for the riots was wearing a very large, massive and heavy gold chain worth a couple grand.

Everyone on the videos looks very well fed, very well clothed and very healthy. The cars they are driving are all nice, late model cars and trucks.

I just don’t buy the poverty excuses.

What’s wrong? Black racism.

A white officer could not possibly have done the job professionally. No white could possibly understand “the community”.

What’s wrong is a group that have their mind made up and can’t wait for an investigation. They want “justice” now. There’s no need for an investigation. He’s white.

They are a racist lynch mob.

Jobs are the key. Good, productive jobs, not gubmint jobs, not flipping burgers.

Jobs pull people out of poverty. They end the despair & personal shame of not being able to provide for yourself & your family.

People with jobs are too tired at the end of the work day to riot all night long or rob & loot. They have too much respect for themselves & the value of a dollar to risk their job doing bad things. No other activity can bestow self worth like a good job.

The Left, currently led by Obama, has been driving business out of cities for decades. High taxes, over regulation, poor schools, & high crime, all the result of Leftist policies, sent people & businesses all fleeing to the burbs as well as completely out of the country.

Businesses that do remain in a city are forced to raise prices & cut employees or their wages to stay in business. Obviously, higher prices & fewer jobs hurt the poor & unemployed the most.

Obama has done nothing to promote employment in the USA. On the contrary, his policies are the most anti-employment since Jimmy Carter. When will the poor realize the Left wants them to remain that way?

Would that be the same Je$$e Jack$$on who fantasized about committing a brutal act of violence against the president of the United States?

Horsecrap.

These riots were planned and executed by SDS, Weather Underground, etc.

Correct. Leftist agit-prop always treats riots and other barbaric conduct by the urban Parasite Class as some sort of independent force of nature, that does things and the people just go along for the ride.

It's nonsense.

Riots occur because people choose to riot. Looting occurs because people choose to loot. Cities burn because people choose to commit arson. The left chooses to obscure the evil choices of the urban Parasite Class.
