“Yet the rapid growth of an Islamic State may also be its Achilles heel. The Caliphate expansion makes Islamist organizations vulnerable to overreach. Stretching command and control of the terror network over large regions with little or no infrastructure can make such a state easy prey for a formidable, well trained military force.”

That may be true but the videos put up on you tube by Vice News would indicate that IS has put a lot of thought and effort into their administration of Sharia, upkeep and repair of the infrastructure and take over and running of the industry.

"...has attracted foreign fighters to the Sunni controlled Caliphate."

As far as I can discover, I don't think there is a "Caliphate" yet. I think the Islamic "messiah" has to return, plus a unified muslim empire of all the faithful must exist, before a Caliph can be appointed, or elected, or however he is picked to assume command of the world's muslims. And by the way, it will be a "he".

The problem goes much deeper than the threat that ISIS poses to our nation.

If we are supposedly a ‘nation of immigrants’, why is it that government allows entry into the country of migrants whose teachings in their holy book orders them to kill those who do not agree with their way of life?

Does this not promote civil conflict and strife?

What is a non-muslim citizen to think of his muslim neighbor? Does he have to live in fear of his life and live in the expectation that his neighbor could, at any unexpected time, practice what the Koran tells him to do and turn ISIS?

The civilized world needs to immediately stop ALL commerce, foreign aid, and ALL BANK/FUND transactions with those that fund, or are suspected of funding these troglodytes. They have no ability to self-fund and they would dry up within a decade. Follow (and STOP) the money. Immediately. 100%.

No oil trade; no weapons trade, and legalize drugs to cut off access to that money. All invaders will be incarcerated PERMANENTLY. No leniency, no parole, no pardon. If deported they must be tattooed with a permanent prominent facial tattoo that will be shot on sight if they ever set foot on our territory again.

And though they are not believed to possess the technical expertise of al Qaeda

That situation will improve for them rapidly and drastically as the talent migrates to the winner and IS is showing itself as a Winner that is actually doing what AQ and the rest have been preaching. a concerted military effort bu the USA right now would shatter that in short order and convert IS into another of the many Islamist militias with little or no territorial base.
