HUNTSVILLE, Alabama --Immigration detainees housed at the Etowah County Jail went on a brief hunger strike Thursday and today to protest the poor quality of food they are served, an immigrant rights group said.
But an Etowah County Sheriff's Department spokeswoman said the protest was not a hunger strike because it did not last 72 hours."Several detainees refused three meals, which does not constitute a hunger strike, beginning Thursday ... today, Friday, August 8, 2014, the detainees accepted and ate lunch," spokeswoman Natalie Barton said. "Etowah County Detention Center staff quickly resolved the refusal of food and addressed the detainees concerns in a professional and responsible manner.

They come here and expect to find the same beans and tortillas they got at home. In other words, they fully intend to make the US look more like home. One wonders why they came. (Oh, free stuff.)
I heard that in some South American prisons the prisoner’s relatives have to provide them with food and clothing. The prison does provide a foul gruel that is disgusting.
I think, if we were to use this to single out possible jihadis, it might not work since they are “allowed” to go outside their teachings in order to fool/trick/lie to us. Still, it might be worth a try. Otherwise, they old “you can eat it now or you can eat it in the morning” trick might come in to play.
Relocate them to Guatemala and be done with it.
