Wow.
Even though GM is one of the biggest companies in the world, $40 billion of debt is still a staggering amount to deal with.
Obama likes to say Bin Laden is dead and Detroit is alive. Is GM on the road to good financial health as claimed??? It seems doubtful based on this news. And did our “investment” in GM through Obama’s efforts pay off for taxpayers, or for GM???
One exception is state run liquor stores. Pennsylvania actually makes money on that. So do people with the limited number of liquor licenses. Reselling is a great business if you are well connected.
If your not? Well, so what? How many politicians have you bought lately?
Gimmedat Motors doesn’t have to turn a profit. They have the taxpayer to bail them out.
Did anyone expect anything different when Obama gave the company to the unions?
GM is coming out with a new model. They have named it the “Recall”.
“GM announced another recall today.”
I have heard a lot of former GM drivers saying they won’t buy an Obama Motors car any more.
GM is a success story compared to his foreign policy.
Pray America wakes up
Dint Obie and Co. brag about how “GM was alive” thanks to them?
If you are 40 billion in debt, it is time to turn the lights out.
I’m so glad us taxpayers bailed out the union’s pension (VEBA) just in time for Gov Motors to slip back into Ch.11
Detroit is doing so well its residents can’t afford water bills.
YAY! SUCCESS STORY!
My son has fun job for a kid just out of high school. He is going to college in the fall. He is working at a facility that unloads cars from trains and reloads them onto semi’s for delivery to car lots. He get’s to climb around on trains, drive brand new cars, some of them very expensive and very fast. It is also well paying and enough hours to get overtime.
They handle GM and Chrysler. They have been very busy with deliveries of the 2015 models.
don’t ever buy Government Motors vehicles... even if they give them away. Have had family Suburbans for over 24 years... next vehicle to replace 7 year old Suburban is a Toyota or Audi.
When GM showed a profit, Obama took credit. So, now?
Gee, what a surprise that ISN'T. Since, instead of putting them thru a bancruptcy where they could get rid of the dead weight of the union contracts; the govt. took over, kept everything the same, gave a badly run company lots of govt. cash and let it be business as usual.
If they had accepted bancruptcy, GM might have become a viable company again. I hate it when the pols and the MSM portray bancruptcy as meaning that a company will cease to exist. No, that is not what it means. The company gets some oversight and some reorganization to help it back on its feet. But, instead, the brilliant guy at the head of our govt. decides to just dump lots of cash, 'cause, from his pov, that is all that is ever needed to fix any problem. Bah, GM, I have no sympathy for them at all. They made a deal with the devil, and they lost.
