I would never take the advice from someone described as a “crossbencher”. I’m not sure I even want to know what that means.

“A crossbencher is a member of a small party or an independent member of the house. The name is from the position of the benches on the floor, they are perpendicular to the main opposition and government benches.”

It means he has no principles or morals or anything he just wants to get elected, so he will vote for either side depending on how he thinks it will keep him in office. Sorta like John McCain, or Lindsey Graham, etc
