Washington Times Editor makes a fool of himself with his TEA Party obituary

If Washington Times editor Drew Johnson was alive and writing in 1781 he would undoubtedly have made as big a fool of himself while reporting on the progress of the original TEA party’s revolt against England as he did last week. Mr. Johnson is to be pitied because he clearly doesn’t understand the wisdom of the saying “It is better to be thought a fool and remain silent than to speak up and remove all doubt.”

Last week poor addled Mr. Johnson removed all doubt about his competence with his obituary for the TEA party movement. He claimed it is dead because we were the victim of a fraud he apparently doesn’t understand; and doesn’t think we have the strength to bounce back from. Mister Johnson’s foolish argument that Thad Cochran’s victory proves the TEA party is dead is frankly embarrassing. Clearly he doesn’t comprehend that Cochran won because of a quirk in the Mississippi voting laws allowing liberal Democrats to vote for Cochran in the runoff with Chris McDaniel. Poor Mister Johnson doesn’t understand voter fraud.

This raises questions about Mister Johnson’s ability to comprehend basic facts and draw thoughtful conclusions. He probably would have reported that George Washington was washed up after the September 1780 defection by Benedict Arnold or the January 1781 desertion crisis that forced Washington to execute a few soldiers who had tried to run off. “Certainly these events show us that the Revolution is over and General Washington should...

Drew Johnson appears to be an obnoxious libertarian who supports gay marriages. He seems to have been fired or asked to leave some media outlets.

While it would be nice to win every battle, we need to remember we are trying to win the war.

So on the one hand a six-term senator narrowly withstands a tea party challenge, and on another hand a political unknown rides the tea party movement to an unprecedented victory over the #2 Republican in the House ... and the conclusion is that the tea party is dead?

The “Washington Times” is filled with GOPe friendly personnel.

So are a lot of other “conservative” media websites, organizations.

I laughed when I got an e-mail pitch to support the newspaper recently from Dr. Ben Carson.

And Carson disappointed me again recently when I heard a phone message from him asking support so Obamacare could be “replaced”.

“Repeal and replace” is the mantra of the Romneycare GOPe leaders in Washington.

The lead sentence from your link: 'Opinion editor Drew Johnson was fired from the Chattanooga Times Free Press for telling President Obama to "shove it" in a headline.'

“...“Repeal and replace” is the mantra of the Romneycare GOPe leaders in Washington...”

Recall and Replace - or better yet REMOVE and Replace - is OUR mantra for RINOs.

One by one, or all at once. Either way.

There’s plenty to remove at the end of the day when you consider Lee and Cruz are the only GOP senators who appear to be opposing leadership while Paul embraces it for political advantage.

In the House only 12 members voted against Boehner’s leadership at beginning of the current session meaning the rest are complicit in his leadership inlcuding all the spending, tax increases and debt ceiling hikes Boehner has endorsed.

95 percent of elected Republicans are not real consevatives.......
