From reading your posts cynwoody, it seems to me that you think what happened in Mississippi is just a bump in the road and that we need to move on and support Thad Cochran now. I seriously wonder if you had been in Mississippi busting your butt to get Chris McDaniel elected if you would still feel this way.

What happened was like watching someone in a race that you considered to be somewhat of a friend turn and slap your momma, spit in her face, shove her to the ground then turn and walk away with victorious hands held high in the air. Don't think for a second that I am joking.

I will never again support Thad Cochran for anything, not in this lifetime. I hope to see him politically BURN between now and November!

I got the robocall that implied if I think $17T in debt is unsustainable I need to run right down and join my local KKK chapter.

Sorry. It IS unsustainable. Promising this ‘new demographic’ all sorts of freebies to get their votes doesn’t make it sustainable...

And besides, I can’t vote for a man living in open adultery with another woman. No can do.

Just because the GOP-e scored an underhanded victory in Mississippi doesn't mean we should throw the election to the 'Rats.

As I said above, we need to take the House and Senate. Then we take on the GOP-e, hopefully with improved numbers, so that, for example, Mitch McConnell can be replaced as Majority Leader. The fact remains, that goal will be achieved more easily with Mitch McConnell and Thad Cochran in the Senate than with Alison Grimes and Travis Childers. And, if we fail to take the Senate, then it's irrelevant anyway: Dingy Harry stays Majority Leader. That's just how it works. Get over it.

If you insist on purity, you are likely to end up with nothing. As Ronald Reagan said,

Die-hard conservatives thought that if I couldn't get everything I asked for, I should jump off the cliff with the flag flying — go down in flames. No, if I can get 70 or 80 percent of what it is I'm trying to get ... I'll take that and then continue to try to get the rest in the future.

And if you think making the country continue to suffer under liberalism will magically cause the voters to return conservatives to power, think again! It won't. It will just allow the 'Rats to entrench the welfare state ever more securely. Just look at Argentina!
