No round in the chamber is just asking for trouble.1. true if you have a loud manual safety release. obviously that doesn't work with a glock. 2. saw a video of the "israeli method" which has you racking the slide as you bring the gun to the fire position. seems like an extra step that may be fine with sufficient training and practice but i wouldn't do it.
