A man not worthy to carry the knapsack will stand at Omaha Beach on D-Day Anniv.

With the 70th anniversary of D-Day just a few days away, it should be a time of celebration and heartfelt appreciation. In Normandy, France, where the allied assault occurred on June 6, 1944, that is precisely the perspective. It is the way it is supposed to be.

Yet here, at home, there is a cloud that hovers over one of the greatest military accomplishments in history and the inevitable question we should ask is “Why?”

Just days before a monumental occasion to honor the ultimate sacrifice of thousands of soldiers from all over the world, there should be moments of solitude, prayer, thankfulness, joy and sorrow. There should be a reaching out of hands across the vast Atlantic Ocean to commemorate the victory of freedom and liberty over tyranny.

True, the celebrations will be grand. The memories will be vivid. There will be feelings of pride and achievement and, for the last time, we will be able to personally thank those who remain for their courage against overwhelming odds.

Why then is there also a pervading sense of melancholy that accompanies the historic events of the day?

Their sacrifices were not in vain. They gave America 70 more years of freedom. A shame we didn’t do more to fight socialism.

Perhaps it is time for someone to borrow a phrase from Sen ( then VP candidate) Lloyd Bentsen:

"President Obama: I served with Ronald Reagan. I knew Ronald Reagan. Ronald Reagan was a friend of mine. Mr. President, you're no Ronald Reagan."

All those troops fought and dies on D-Day for:

Abortions on demand
Gay Marriage
Higher and higher taxes
Having their guns taken away

Guess he can’t use the Clintoon schtick of making a cross in the sand with imported pebbles.

We have really had some sorry Democrat presidents. That party would be on the ash heap of history if they didn’t have such ignorant voters, who actually think the freebie gravy train will keep on rolling.

Hate to say it, but you’re correct.....

We’re on God’s timeline, and IMHO the WWII European atrocities were to jump start Israel back as a Nation. Had we lost WWII in Europe, this wouldn’t have happened—but God’s Prophecies & Promises will be fulfilled.

We here in America are on the road to destruction.

Kissing up to the military so maybe eventually the military will respect him enough to obey his orders to round up U.S. citizens at his whim and do as he wishes with them.

That is all this is about.

That the messenger is unworthy doesn’t detract from the value of their sacrifice. Celebrate them. Ignore him.

In fact, their sacrifices are made all the more noble by his pettiness. And this is a perfect occasion for him to demonstrate on the world’s stage just how unworthy he is.

Ten Reasons Why "D-Day" Could Never Take Place Today
  1. EPA restrictions against building artificial harbors and use of lead ammunition in coastal environments
  2. Attorney General lawsuit to increase numbers of blacks, females and homosexuals in officer corps
  3. FDA directive to destroy 34 million tons of military rations not in compliance with the First Lady's healthy menu directive.
  4. Uniform and footwear shortage due to recall of uniforms and boots produced in non-union factories
  5. Lawsuit by NOW to delay invasion until offensive nose art is removed from all Allied aircraft
  6. Presidential directive to replace some military unit Ministers, Priests and Rabbis with muslim Imams
  7. DOD order to replace millions of military dog tags containing references to religion
  8. Fuel shortages due to EPA restrictions on use of petroleum fuels and lubricants
  9. CAIR demand to provide Halal rations and eliminate all food and equipment items containing pork or made with pigskin
  10. Lawsuit by German-Americans to disipline anyone in the military using offensive epitaphs like "Kraut" and "Hun"

Our fighting men didn’t fight for any of that. Those that NEVER fought imposed that upon us and WE didn’t fight back.
