Were my son reliably reported to me to be conversing exclusively in Pashtu or however you spell it, and was a POW, it would be a strong incentive for me to learn it.

I don’t find it odd. I would find becoming a Muslim odd. Why on earth would a serious Christian father turn Muzzie when his son is a POW of Muzzies? It makes no religious or practical sense.

Islam has a history of converting people through traumatization.

It’s a curious thing that Islam can brutalize people, but the people brutalized can honestly believe Islam is the most gentlest of all religions.
