Regardless of the nation, the use of force against unruly citizens is ALWAYS on the table. Anyone that thinks this can only happen in Nazi Germany needs to read American history....and the history of ever other nation.

The civil war in Spain dragged on for nearly three years because the communist civilians had the presence of mind to attack the police stations and military barracks as soon as word of the army result spread; many soldiers and police were killed right away as they attempted to get to those places. This left the conservatives reliant on an army that had to be transported from Spanish Morocco; the army na dpolice units in Madrid and Barcelona had been quickly neutralized.
