From my personal contact with students over the years, I agree with you that all of those external influences can upset the person with Asberger's. I also wonder why they're prescribed meds. Oftentimes, they just want to be left alone, and are often creative and imaginative.

The "team" or "group" often unsettles them. They seem most settled in the big classrooms of old, with quiet private corners with lots of options for individual activities. Some people just want some privacy and peace and quite to recharge their batteries. In the modern classroom, that's considered to be a disorder.

I might have known a couple of high functioning Asperger’s patients when I was in grade school. Very smart in a limited way(could remember anything once read)

Of course that was back in the day before Political Correctness and the Internet...
