RE :”Well when boring is the leads main trait the rest of the film has got to follow. I never ever saw anything that Broderick did where I felt I was seeing talent. “

I liked his two early movies, upbeat kid stuff I suppose : ‘War Games’ and ‘ Ferris Bueller’s Day Off’

I still watch them from time to time’

the anatomy of T-Rex which replaced the stand up stance with the body running parallel to the ground with the tail as a counterweight to the massive head. That is fine for T-Rex but that is not Godzilla.

No insult intended but I doubt anyone watching the past Godzillas ever gave a thought to that..........

There is only one reason to watch Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, and Broderick ain’t it.

Here is a new released clip of the U.S. Navy trying to form a blockade to stop Godzilla at the Golden Gate Bridge.

Incredible. What retarded eight year old would have the Navy lined up like oared gallies at Salamis? And riflemen on the bridge?

Thanks for the clip, though.

Don’t mistake technical and budget limitations with camp. The original is a very serious movie, got nominated for best picture by the JMA and won best FX. Overdubs add a lot of camp, not to mention the version usually shown in America was edited to add more camp. Try out the real original (NOT King of Monsters) with titles instead of dub, what you see is actually a pretty scary movie expressing a lot of the fears of a country that had recently lost a war and been nuked in the process, not camp.

For some bizarre reason, Hollywood seems to be horrified with the idea of nuclear anything, for example having Spider-Man’s Peter Parker bitten by a GM spider, and even modifying the Incredible Hulk so that though he had *some* radiation, it was mostly nanotechnology.

But Godzilla is all about the radiation from nuclear testing.

In this reboot, the director is moving away from nuclear weapons, and blaming Godzilla on “mankind’s scientific arrogance”. Which sounds a lot like the remake of The Day The Earth Stood Still.

I have no idea what you are talking about there,
but Ally Sheedy was really good in War Games as the precocious upbeat and cute teen girl. That movie really moves.

Probably her best show. I dont remember any others that I liked.

I saw the movie.

It was too much talk and little action.

I wanted more Godzilla.

The actors were horrible.

The military seemed to be stupid at times. If this is like real life, we are screwed. Lets fire on the guy who is going to help us. Jeez.

HORY MORY! IT’S GOJIRRA! RUN FOR YOUR RIVES!

I just saw this in 3D... Classic Godzilla destroying cities while protecting the human race film.

Notable and refreshing was that there was no obvious ecobullshit “anthropogenic climate change” agenda, or that somehow man needs to suffer some consequence for offending “Mother Earth Gaia” or whatever. Similarly, there was no homofascist “equality or else” spin, race hustling or otherwise leftist political motivation in the film. Just a good old fashioned Monster vs. Monster movie. Audience was cheering for Godzilla... good flick. Recommended.

The Beast from 20,000 Fathoms.

That was one scary movie.

I had nightmares for weeks when the cop tried to kill it with his pistol.
