Catholics tell writer to "Go to Hell" for criticizing rushed pope canonization
The Daily Caller ^ | April 25, 2014 | Brett M. Decker

At least seven people wrote Decker and told him to “go to hell.” For instance, MariaTM supportively promised, “I will pray for your burning soul.” And Amanda kept things real simple: “Go to hell lowlife.” One simple text just said: “hater.”

Someone calling himself or herself SSPVArchangel asked, “When did the other 2 ‘popes’ die and who made Decker Supreme Pontiff??” On FreeRepublic.com there was KarlFromOhio who cleverly wrote, “Since John Paul II eliminated the Devil’s Advocate position in the canonization procedure, I guess USA Today has decided to take the position on a pro bono basis.”

I once quoted my college coach as telling someone to go to hell. I was talking to my girlfriend and she promptly told me that Christians don’t tell people that.

I thought about it and she was right.

Angelo Roncalli was my grandmother’s cousin. She was always proud of that.

And it was a clever comment, too.

As for more vitriolic responses, whatever happened to saying, “I disagree.”?

I, too, have a problem with the rapidity of the canonizations of these two men. I think it dilutes the honor of being named a saint. I don’t doubt that John Paul II may have been named a saint in due time, but I don’t understand John XXII. He was only Pope for 5 years, and his only claim to fame of which I am aware is Vatican II. Just because someone is a Pope doesn’t make them a saint. Lesser known people, who may be very saintly in their lives, will probably have to wait many, many years to achieve that honor.

Once a Pope is canonized ,what`s next? Is it binding on The Lord?

I also am confused about Saint Hood, I always thought a Saint was simply a follower of Christ, a Christian or simply a forgiven sinner

So is all this Saint Hood and Canonization binding on the Lord

Cant find it anywhere in my Bible
