Anything which will reduce payroll/revenue to the government will be opposed...It's why the tax structure has not been dramatically changed to benefit the tax payers.

But they throw a bone to the tax peasants and talk about it year in and year out.

There is too much money in the current tax code for the ruling class to let it go. Not just in tax breaks for politically connected wealthy people, but income for people in the lobby industry, in the tax prep industry, the lawyers, not to mention the politicians!

This is why all proposed “campaign finance reforms” are backwards. It is not that we need to get the money out of politics we need to get the politics out of money!
