PHOENIX (KSAZ) - Ruth Alvarez says breast cancer has been her personal prison; she is now facing the disease behind bars.
Maricopa County Sheriff's deputies arrested Alvarez-- an undocumented immigrant-- in early April for working with a false identification. She says her arrest comes just a few weeks away from her planned mastectomy scheduled for April 23rd. Alvarez is asking to be release so she can undergo the surgery with her family by her side.
"To go through breast cancer is already hard, it's so hard to go through treatments seeing how your whole body, your whole life kinda change," said Alvarez.
MCSO first arrested Alvarez in September 2013 for allegedly working with a false ID and turned her over to Immigrations & Customs Enforcement. Alvarez' lawyer says ICE released her so she could get chemotherapy. Now she is back in jail, facing the same charges from the Maricopa County Attorney.
"I know it was wrong, but at the time I only used it to get a job," said Alvarez.

Why should we be responsible to give her anything? She is illegally here which makes her a criminal. She has been convicted of identity theft, she is a criminal alien. She should be deported at the first opportunity.
I'm sorry she has cancer but the resources that are expended on her should be going to one of our own citizens.
We need to face the reality that first, and always first, we should take care of our own people and our own problems.

The liberals have decided that “illegal alien” is a racist bigoted and pejorative term. That’s why the media don’t use that term anymore. Instead, they use “undocumented worker” or “undocumented immigrant”.
Which, if you think about it, calling them undocumented is intended to change the perception. It’s as if they simply lost their identity documents and need to have them replaced.
Boo hoo she had breast cancer and she wants out of jail to be operated on. Yes, let’s release her back in Mexico and let the Mexican taxpayers pay for it, NOT THE US TAXPAYERS!!!!!
I call ILLEGAL ALIENS... Undocumented Common Criminals.
Release her back to her home country and let their taxpayers pay for her treatment.
Just bet you there are doctors in Mexico. Send her home too.
