And you think that can't happen in the USA? The first amendment doesn't protect you against anything unless it can be successfully deployed. And there are those who are constantly seeking to "water it down" by "new interpretation", or by invoking other laws and amendments against it. Or even invoking one persons 1st rights against anothers. You have to be vigilant.

I'm not amazed at all. There might not be a written 1st amendment but the concept of free speech is pretty much ingrained into British society. This judgement is sound, and sets another legal precedent that being "offended" is no bar on someone else's opinion.
