dem war on women

Last night I watched Mara Liasson on the Fox News Special Report panel together with George Will and Charles Krauthammer. It was an education. The woman could not be the least bit swayed with facts and kept repeating falsehoods and was convinced that democrats had a winning issue by lying. Both Will and Krauthammer spoke to the illegitimacy of the democrat argument that women are making only 77% of what men make but Liasson would have none of it. She took a breath, licked her lips, grinned and asserted that the truth didn't matter to women. democrats would be able to successfully demagogue the issue.

A year ago the Washington Post had this to say about the so-called "wage gap."

There is clearly a wage gap, but differences in the life choices of men and women — such as women tending to leave the workforce when they have children — make it difficult to make simple comparisons.

The administration’s back-up document for this statement asserted that “on average women generally make 23 cents on the dollar less than men.” But the White House is using a figure (annual wages, from the Census Bureau) that makes the disparity appear the greatest. The Bureau of Labor Statistics, for instance, shows that the gap is 19 cents when looking at weekly wages. The gap is even smaller when you look at hourly wages — it is 14 cents — but then not every wage earner is paid on an hourly basis, so that statistic excludes salaried workers.

In other words, since women in general work fewer hours than men in a year, the statistics used by the White House may be less reliable for examining the key focus of the legislation — wage discrimination. Weekly wages is more of an apples-to-apples comparison, but it does not include as many income categories.

Economists at the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis surveyed economic literature and concluded that “research suggests that the actual gender wage gap (when female workers are compared with male workers who have similar characteristics) is much lower than the raw wage gap.” They cited one survey, prepared for the Labor Department, which concluded that when such differences are accounted for, much of the hourly wage gap dwindled, to about 5 cents on the dollar.

And yesterday Obama lied again.

President Obama on Tuesday rolled out the latest in a series of administrative actions designed to promote pay equality for women, pushing back forcefully at critics who have cast doubt on figures cited by the White House.

Obama repeated the oft-cited statistics suggesting women are paid 77 cents for every dollar earned by a man at the same job.

“It’s not a myth; its math,” Obama said. “You can look at the numbers. You can look at the pay stubs.”

But it is a myth. This is another "You can keep your doctor" moment.

Ironically, it turns out that the Obama administration pays women less than it pays men. Their deflection was "we suck less than average."

But we still pay women less.

A member of Council of Economic Advisers emphasized the 77% figure:

While detailing executive actions President Obama plans to take Tuesday regarding equal pay for women, Betsey Stevenson, a member of the White House Council of Economic Advisers, said very defiantly that despite women contributing 44 percent of their household incomes, they continue to make less than men. Obama has declared Tuesday "Equal Pay Day" to highlight his administration's focus on that issue.

“They’re stuck at 77 cents on the dollar, and that gender wage gap is seen very persistently across the income distribution, within occupations, across occupations, and we see it when men and women are working side by side doing identical work.”

And then the walls came down:

Here’s a case where “root causes” are of no interest to the Left.

I love it when dum-ocrat lies come back to kick them in the butt.

But Liasson is right that women will continue to believe in the “gap.” Women want to belief this and the lie has been repeated for so long and so often they’ve convinced themselves it’s a fact.

Democrats want women working their fingers to the bone....(figuratively).....that way they don’t have time to care for families, (more programs from Dems) and they can pay more taxes (for MORE programs)....some women have started figuring this out...but, many have not.

See the shiny object, let’s all obsess over the shiny object while Obama fundamentally undoes all the really important things. The stuff the dems and the media throw out there to make the masses obsess over is just amazing, by the way when is Idol on?

After 2012, I generally view single women as walking talking erm girl parts more concerned about passing themselves around to as many men as possible while getting their birth control and abortions paid for by tax payers rather than being true feminists and determining their own destinies on their own terms without demanding it from others.

Unfortunately, a lot of women don’t go for the top dollar jobs like those in science, technology, engineering and math. Except for nursing.

Here’s another example — one of my co-workers and I were paid the same for several years — but now he gets a buck or so more per hour. Why? He wanted to take on more responsibility and go into leadership. I was asked, but because of family matters, don’t want to put in the extra time required

I think that’s the gap in a nutshell. All boils down to free will.

It's all talking Barbie's fault. She tells little girls "Math is hard!"
