Unions Try To Destroy College Football

The National Labor Relations Board in Chicago has ruled that college football players can unionize. For those unaware, Northwestern University football players filed a petition to unionize. Hearing was held back in January with the decision handed down yesterday. Northwestern and the NCAA plan to appeal this absurd ruling. College football players receive no salary because they are amateur athletes. They’re given a scholarship, which at most of these schools is highly valuable. Particularly so at Northwestern where tuition is over $45,000 a year. These kids don’t get paid, which begs the question how they’re going to pay union dues.
