“Yesterday, Kevin Spacey met with Maryland lawmakers to lobby for more funds to keep filming House of Cards within the state.”

It would be cheaper to cough up about 40 bucks to buy a copy of the original (and superior, IMHO) British miniseries.

Frank Underwood’s got nothing on Francis Urquhart!

No, they are losing money due to poor production and worse providing value to their audiences.

A friend of mine in LA said the industry is really hurting. That Craft Services, make-up artists, PAs ... lots of people “below the line” are getting stiffed. But they keep working because they’re afraid they’ll be blacklisted if they complain too much.

Sure. I don’t remember a single really good movie in years. Most are tasteless politicized BS.

We’re in the same boat. Part of my job is to go to power lunches and “get together” with people I despise politically. It’s a real acting job on our part. I should get an Oscar for my efforts.

Craft services? I know one major studio contracted with those cheap mexican mobile food trucks to provide the food because the previous companies were getting too expensive. The funny part is that the union contract states they need to be fed. It didn’t say anything about what kind of crappy food they will be served.
