Oh, I’m all for it, but my evidence suggests that by no later than the mid-1820s ALL states had gotten rid of property requirements.
Been some years since i came across the source of my impression that South Carolina still limited the franchise until about the time of the Polk election; but, to be frank, I am not sure that it was based purely on a property requirement.
