I wouldve laughed muh azz off falling through the ice.
Of course my stem would have turned into a core but, I’d eventually heal.
For example: Reminds me of amature mountain climbers trying to hone the limited skills, getting "stuck" and then having to have someone come get them (Usually a rescue team of some sort). Living in Colorado Springs it was not uncommon to have this going on. I would make them pay all expenses for the entire rescue.
My brother spent a winter on a upper Lake Michigan lighthouse way back in the 40s. He was in the Coast Guard.
Wonder if The Crib was the one.
