This cancer has been creeping up in to a full blown tumor for many years. Probably as far back as the late '50s early '60's. When I think back (hard to believe I can) to what kind of things were being tossed around in high school in the mid 60's it pretty much smacks you up side the head now. Sometimes seeing things in retrospect sucks. Now, it seems to be the standard of the day to accept lies and pass things of as "feelings".

Absolutely concur with this excellent article. Obama is the symptom of the corrupt MSM cancer.

Obama is a big problem, but the corrupt MSM is the disease that has infected this country. They have become nothing more than a propaganda driven entity wholly dedicated to advancing Marxism/Liberalism.

We err significantly if we overlook or simply try to work around the corrupt MSM. On some level they need to be dealt with.

I remember when Walter Mondale's running mate, Geraldine Ferraro first faced "the press" alone after the announcement.

They started peppering her with [real and embarrassing] questions, and she lashed out "Why are you doing this to me? I'm on your side!".

Now that I think about it, it's amazing that that part of the presser was reported.

I’m sorry. You have to pay people to get the kind of coverage the Democrats get from the press. We tend to want to give fellow Americans the benefit of the doubt and say they are just misguided, but that’s not what motivates our press. A slip or two by our press could be chalked up to partisanship, but Obama has gone golfing something like 180 times since becoming President and the press just praises him for being consistent. You have to pay for that kind of slobbering butt-kissing. It’s not youthful, misguided partisanship....it’s money.

The media, and in particular the electronic media have been at this for years. Lionel Lokos in Hysteria 1964: The Fear Camapagn Against Barry Goldwater (New Rochelle, NY: Arlington House, 1967) chronicles the media's pro-Democrat bias in the 1964 presidential campaign. Edith Efron in The News Twisters (Los Angeles: Nash, 1971) and Joseph Charles Keeley in The Left-Leaning Antenna: Political Bias in Television (New Rochelle, NY: Arlington House, 1971) document the electronic media's leftist bias in the 1968 election. The same is true for Bruce Herschensohn's The Gods of the Antenna (New Rochelle, NY: Arlington House, 1975), which also documents media bias in its treatment of the Watergate scandal.

In his book Big Story: How the American Press and Television Reported the Crisis of Tet 1968 in Vietnam and Washington (Boulder, Colo.: Westview, 1977), Peter Braestrup documented the way in which the media portrayed a Communist defeat as a victory. And if you read more recent books by authors such as Bernard Goldberg, you can see that with the exception of Fox News and the Blaze, the electronic media is still at it.
