A 35-year old Murfreesboro man has been charged with Aggravated Child Abuse. The case started from a call to the Department of Children Services advising that Antonio Moreno-Martinez had abused a small child that he was with after becoming angry. While we cannot release details of who that child was, we can say he is not related to the child.
In the report that WGNS obtained, it states that the 35-year old was mad at the child because the child was not counting numbers correctly. The child had multiple bruises on his back, buttocks, face and neck when police got involved in the case.
Moreno-Martinez will be in court this March. The suspect will not be released on bond because an ICE detainer has been placed against him.
What is an ICE Detainer:
You have likely heard on past WGNS news stories, an ICE detainer is a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement detainer. An immigration detainer is a notice that the Department of Homeland Security issues to federal, state and local law enforcement agencies to inform them that the immigration enforcement agency intends to assume custody of an individual that is currently in local law enforcements custody.
According to the immigration enforcement service, detainers are critical for ICE to be able to identify and ultimately remove criminal aliens who are currently in federal, state or local custody.

Lemme guess...he’s ‘Mommy’s New Boyfriend?’
I wish him ill
“Lemme guess...hes Mommys New Boyfriend?”
It happens time and time again
I tell clients, you tell your boy/girlfriend he/she may not lay one finger on your child. That child comes first, not him/her and he/she can’t deal with it, too bad.
I wonder what the problem was with the child counting their numbers correctly? maybe the problem was the child counting in English.
