I don't know what year your 300D is, and I don't know how old the Nova, Kingswood Estate, etc, were when you killed them. I am pretty good at killing cars myself, and I was most Unimpressed with the '97 Monte Carlo (camshaft. Really?Camshaft? At 65 mph?!) and with the '96 Buick Century (transmission just decided it was done.) BUT, I have had great fortune with the aforementioned '94 Caprice (350 ci) and all manner of Dodge Dart (two out of 7 dying from abuse/neglect, one from rusted torsion bar holders). Darts from the late 60s/early 70s were not an common sight in the rusty northeast even into the mid-nineties, easily outlasting its Nova and Falcon peers from Chevy and Ford.
Much has to do with the type of people who own/drive the cars. That is why Corvettes have AWFUL accident records DESPITE being a safe car on paper.
