Nothing anywhere is new.
“My old 1965 Chrysler 300 with 383 (BASE engine that year) is still hitting the road every summer. “
A most wonderful Land Yacht. Slick your hair back with Vitalis and don your green Ray-Bans.
Am I just coo-coo (please be kind) or hasn’t there been a movie about this?
Something about the “bean counters” calculating the odds of death vs recall. It was a lawyer movie with a dad lawyer and a daughter lawyer against each other.
If I remember correctly GM (with the help of the government) abolished its liability for the Old GM by transferring all of its liabilities to the Old GM before launching the new Government Motors. Maybe lawyers out there can clarify if the claimants can sue the new Government Motors or will they have to sue the Old GM that has been liquidated.
I believe there has but I’m not familiar with it, check posts 21 and 26.
Yes, there have been many references to the old and new GM and I’m no legal beagle but it seems new GM knew of this and still didn’t put out a recall.

Thanks for replying to me. It is appreciated
Since stuff like this drives me wacky I finally found the movie name. Class Action
This situation mirrors the movie..exactly.
Yes, the five cylinder turbo diesel.
GM is a joke right now.
The best of their technology is developed by Opel - the worst German car manufacturer.
‘No matter how good your car (Merc, Audi, BMW) is. It will turn into a brand-new Opel after a single decade and 200,000 on clock.’ ‘There is a winter night and not a little sound around. Oh, wait...something is cracking and clinking...Never mind, it is your brand-new Opel has just started to rust away.’ - German proverbs:-)
Apart from pickup trucks, Camaro, Corvette and Tahoe, every Chevrolet car is a restyled European Opel rip-off.
In European market, every Chevrolet is either Daewoo or Lada rip-off.
It is a wonder how we made it through life before “professional” advice!
Actually, Mrs. BN is very good in that regard. We ALMOST always talk over automobile purchases over the course of several months before reaching an agreement.
She did buy a new Kia (back before Kia got their act together) while I was overseas for a stretch. We had been talking getting another car, probably a used one. She picked me up at the airport in the brand new Kia and the trunk release promptly broke when we tried to put my luggage in the trunk. We were stuck in a traffic jam leaving Boston’s Logan airport (in July) and the A/C quit. Then I learned that the dealer had conned her into an “Extended Warranty”!
I was not a happy camper! Many years later we are still happily married - 43+ years!
You have a good weekend!
