President Obama - No Reforms To Entitlements
Political Realities ^ | 02/21/14 | LD Jackson

Obama

There are many things President Obama is consistent on. Lauding the woes of climate change is one. Income inequality comes to mind as another. And we should not forget spending reform. The current resident of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue loves him some government spending. He likes to brag about reforming spending, but the reality of his actions speak much louder than his words. He has no intention of reforming anything to do with government spending and that includes entitlement spending.

Any sane person who is capable of doing a little math knows there is no way we can ever dig our way out of the fiscal hole we are in without major reforms. Since the bulk of government spending is in the form of entitlements, it stands to reason those entitlements need to be reformed. When Paul Ryan suggested ways of doing that, he was accused of pushing elderly women off a cliff in a wheelchair.

President Obama came up with his own version of entitlement reform last year. It was his way of floating a compromise to the GOP and it included a chained CPI to cut the amount of cost-of-living increases scheduled to go out to those who receive Social Security and other government entitlements. That was 2013 and this is 2014. A new year and a new budget blueprint to be sent to Congress. The elephant in that room is the glaring omission of Obama's compromise on entitlement reform. That's right, folks. The compromise that wasn't really a compromise is missing from the budget blueprint Obama is ready to send to Congress. Hmmm...I wonder why that is?

Could it be that the President is such an ideologue on some things that his ideology simply can not be ignored? That's what is happening with climate change, if you didn't notice. No matter how much the "settle science" is refuted, he refuses to give up on forcing Americans to accept the lie. It is the same with government spending. He pays lip service to reforming the spending practices of the government, but when it comes right down to it, he will do nothing that reduces government spending. Unless, of course, it happens to be in the area of military spending.

I have said all along that President Obama has no intention of allowing the Keystone Pipeline to be built. His ideology will not allow it. Government spending is another area where he will not bend. He believes it is imperative that the government continue spending money we do not have, all in the name of doing something positive and good for America. And all the while, his refusal to reform government spending in any meaningful way is driving our country further in the ditch of debt.

While I am disappointed that Obama is backing off his compromise, I am not surprised in the least. It is what I would expect from someone who believes government spending is not a problem.

I am all for decreasing the amount our government pays to support Americans who don’t have jobs.

The solution to that, is to bring back American jobs.

We need jobs. Here in America.

Bring back US jobs from China. Now.

That is the plan, to collapse the economy, to fully implement communism. It will be their Reichstag fire.

OUR JOBS ARE COMING BACK FROM CHINA

Much of what we’ve heard and read about the decline of U.S. manufacturing isn’t true, at least not to the magnitude we’re led to believe. We still produce the largest amount of manufactured goods consumed in the world right here in the USA. And we manufacture nearly 75 percent of what we consume right here in America. Sure, there has been a decades-long surge of off-shore manufacturing.

But it’s coming back! Between two and three million jobs is estimated to be added to the U.S. economy by 2016 because of the re-shoring of goods currently being manufactured in China. These jobs will require the need for more skilled laborers, and trades such as electricians and other construction jobs will be needed to build new plants and retrofit old ones. This trickles down to distributors in all trades that are needed to supply the products for these new projects.

Well I hope they hurry up then.

We are currently running a 300 billion a year trade deficit with China.

And that is growing.

Been going on for years:

Since President Bush took office, the United States’ trade deficit—the gap between what the
United States exports and imports—has reached historic levels. Large sustained trade deficits
mean that the United States is consuming much more than it is producing. Just like a household
that spends more than it earns, this national gap must be financed by borrowing. Chronic trade
deficits over the past decade have led to a rising foreign debt, the displacement of millions of
jobs from the manufacturing sector, and downward pressure on the wages of non-college
educated workers.
• Since President Bush took office, the U.S. trade deficit has nearly doubled from $379
billion (2000) to $700 billion (2007).1

• The trade deficit with China alone tripled from $83 billion in 2000 to $256 billion in
2007.2

• As a share of the economy, the overall trade deficit rose from 3.9% of GDP in 2000 to a
peak of 5.7% in 2006, before moderating slightly to 5.1% of GDP in 2007.3

• In President Bush’s first term, the United States lost 1.9 million jobs to trade deficits.4

• In 2007, the bilateral trade deficit with China represented 1.85% of the entire economy.5

Growth in this deficit since 2001 has displaced 2.3 million net jobs. 6

• Between 2000 and June 2008, the United States lost 3.4 million manufacturing jobs.7

Recent estimates have predicted that next year China will overtake the United States as
the world’s largest producer of manufactured goods.8

What has President Bush done?

Rejected 301 petition on Chinese labor abuse.
• The Bush administration rejected a 301 petition filed by the AFL-CIO requesting that the
USTR investigate China’s labor practices and, pending the findings of the investigation,
impose trade sanctions.9

Negotiated and signed various trade agreements using NAFTA-model.
• Between NAFTA’s implementation in 1994 and 2004, trade deficits with NAFTA
partners eliminated 1 million jobs, 65% high-paying manufacturing jobs.10 Yet, President
Bush replicated the NAFTA-model in all of his administration’s trade negotiations.
• Bush dismissed the progress achieved on linking labor standards and trade agreements
established in Clinton’s Jordan Free Trade Agreement and instead chose to return to the
NAFTA-model for trade agreements.

I agreed with Bush on a lot, but he was a total globalist sell-out on trade.

Our trade deficit was horrible during Bush’s administration. And he was also all for illegal immigration it seemed to me.

Obama is worse.

We need to focus on building up America for a change. Bring back US jobs, and stop buying everything from overseas.

I wouldn’t hold my breath. Everyone is NWO these days and that isn’t going to change, no matter who is in the WH.

The problem is, China is not NWO.

China does not allow American immigration, nor does it allow Americans to own companies or land there. Only in minority shares.

Everything in China must be majority owned by China.

Yet, we without thinking buy, and buy, and buy. China now exports more than America does.

We are blindly selling out to a massive communist country, which is rapidly strengthening.

America needs to be concerned with AMERICA. The GOP needs to stop messing around, and bring back jobs right here.

Bring back American jobs now. To America.

For real.
