Republican congressman promises House will stop Obama’s abuse of power
Coach is Right ^ | 2/20/14 | Doug Book

Barack Hussein Obama has spent 5 years ignoring both the law of the land and constitutionally imposed limits on the power of the presidency. So far, republicans in both the House and Senate have done precious little to take this corrupt, Marxist plant to task on his countless abuses of executive authority.

But on Monday, during a segment with FOX News political analyst Jeanine Pirro, Congressman Trey Gowdy of South Carolina promised viewers that the House will use the “power of the purse” to end Obama’s obsession with rule rather than governance. When Pirro asked the congressman if House republicans were actually going to DO it, Gowdy energetically responded “Blank Yeah,” (just in case his mother was watching.)

At last, conservatives have an...

Trey ...... you seem like a good guy, one of us even, but based on the gOp record thus far ....

Promises mean squat.

Holder should have been long gone by now ... for being in contempt of Congress;

at a minimum, there should be a federal prosecutor assigned to a probe of the CRIMINAL activity of the IRS ........

the list goes on ...

“...will use the “power of the purse” to end Obama’s obsession with rule rather than governance.”

You were bad, so we’re going to cut off your allowance?

REALLY!?

THAT addresses lying, breaking the law and establishing dangerous precedents??

I don’t see this happening with the current House leadership.

I don’t either. Gowdy is a good guy and one of the few who will even say things like this, but it reminds me of a little kid declaring that he’s going to Disneyland. Unless you have the means to actually do so, it’s just idle chatter.

Right Coach?

Let's see. Bohener, Ryan, and Cantor in leaderships positions. Shut off the funds? Yeah, right, that's the ticket. Gowdy unfortunately can talk the talk, but will have no support to walk the walk.

I’ll believe i when I see it. And i haven’t heard much about Arpaio’s “stunning revelations” that are supposed to be revealed in the next month but I’m not gonna hold my breath. Trump has turned this into an art form. I wonder if he does the same thing to his women...: )

Forgive my skepticism. Did he offer any explanation on why they've sat with their thumbs up their arses for the past 5 years?

Perhaps he read Judge Napolitano's editorial this morning: An unconscionable silence (Judge Napolitano rips Congress)

This is just a little tough talk red meat for the base. I expect we will be hearing more of this hot air since the GOP have preemptively surrendered across the board on every major issue.

Gowdy is all hat no cattle. He is an ally of Lindsay Graham and a supporter of amnesty. Just like Darrell Issa, Gowdy brings a Shakespeare line to mind: “full of sound and fury, signifying...nothing.”

Thank you for referencing that article Oldpuppymax. Please bear in mind that the following critique is directed at Obama guard dog Fx News and not at you.

Given that Senate is controlled by Democrats, the main problem is the RINO-controlled House which supports Obama.

Otherwise, I would ignore any remedies proposed by Obama guard dog Fx News to stop Obama's abuse of power. Instead, I would remind patriots that if patriots and former Obama supporters can organize to elect 2/3 conservative majorities to both Houses of Congress in the 2014 elections, the Congress will be positioned as follows.

Congress will have the power, under the Constitution's Clause 2 of Section 7 of Article I, to override presidential vetoes. This means that a conservative supermajority-controlled Congress will be able to repeal Obamacare Democratcare, for example, without Obama's signature.

Note that Congress has overridden presidential vetoes as recently as Bushes 41 & 43, and also with Clinton.

List of United States presidential vetoes

Regarding former Obama supporters, please note the following.

FR: Poll: 71% of Obama voters, 55% Democrats 'regret' voting for his re-election

I like Trey a lot, but if he’s “promising” the House is going to do something about this lawless President, his mouth is writing checks he can’t cash. He couldn’t even get Issa to force that broad from the IRS to testify after she had waived her Fifth Amendment rights.

Support Trey Gowdy during the coming House Member Rebellion Election to be the new Speaker of the House by April 15, 2014.
