Probably not too many Americans are aware that since 1968, the Meatball has been flying over Iwō-Jima. Not long ago, the Japanese renamed the island Iwō-Tō, the name by which it was once known. Iwō-Tō means "Sulfur Island," as does Iwō-Jima.
