I spared myself the torture of watching President Obama deliver his State of the Union speech last night. From details that were leaked, it was quite evident that the entire speech would follow his normal outline: soaring rhetoric cloaking empty words, giving lip service to those that serve our country while secretly spurning them, and propping up his progressive liberal agenda through the generous use of half-truths and outright lies. I figured that I could easily forgo such nausea and instead read the text of the speech and the reactions of others afterward. I am so glad that I did and watched Justified instead.
For someone who loves the truth, listening to Obama is akin to being waterboarded. Just take his statement during the State of the Union where he declared that over eight million jobs had been created by business over the previous four years of his presidency. That statement couldn't be further from the truth. Only a little over three million jobs have been created during Obama's reign, and, in fact, there are 1.2 million less jobs today than there was back in December 2007.
Obama also wailed about the supposed gender pay gap between men and women. Yet as Katie Pavlich has pointed out on Townhall.com, Obama pays women less to work in the White House than he does men. Men averaged $71,000 per year in salary while women only earned $60,000 per year. Liberals never practice what they preach. In fact, most Democrat legislators, who push minimum wage laws, do not pay interns that work for them. Pavlich goes on to debunk the myth that women normally make less than men. (It's worth reading.)
I won't count Obama's lies about the ObamaCare numbers as that is well documented. What I found most odious during the night was when he praised the diplomats who serve our country around the world. His words were filled with ringing support, but we all know he left four men to die in Benghazi. As he spoke, I wonder what the father of one of the slain men who was in attendance last night thought of the President.
There are other instances of Obama's harassed relationship with the truth, but why bother listing them all? To paraphrase Shakespeare, Obama spoke with sound and fury, but signifying nothing.
Giving him a lot more credit than he deserves.
Not sure about you, but the way that I was brought up a “half truth” is a LIE. No two ways about that.
His “Awesome-ness” has demonstrated beyond doubt that he is a Pathological Liar. I see no way to sugar coat it.
I discussed the issue of women allegedly being paid less for the same job as men with someone more liberal.
I told him that, if this is true, that it is against federal law, ans has been against the law going back to the Equal Pay Act of 1963. I also told him that Obama and Eric Holder have all the legal tools to fight this discrimination, if it’s really happening. Where are all the lawsuits on this issue? My more liberal friend was speechless.
Liberals accept certain ideology as truth, without thinking through if it makes sense. Certainly after 5 years of Obama, if women were paid unequally, Obama’s justice department would have had some high profile legal victories to point to.
The former head of Blackwater is founding a new company in Hong Kong, where he will be away from the corrupt U.S. government that destroyed his company. Blackwater never lost an asset they were hired to protect. I’ve been wondering lately, if the U.S. hadn’t put him out of business, but hired Blackwater to protect our Libyan diplomats, would those people have died? I think not.
and how about the physician’s assistant who was only able to get health insurance starting January 1 because of Obamacare. Then she lucked out because she needed an emergency surgery a few days later. Thank God for Obamacare, otherwise she would have gone into bankruptcy. I wonder how big her deductible is? I wonder if she knows what a deductible is? Oops
I agree that half-truths are lies. I went with half-truths for stylistic reasons as it seemed to flow better to me. It staggers the mind how corrupt this administration is and how they get away with it every day as the media turns a blind eye or actively supports them.

Time to call a spade a spade and not something else.
Although B. Hussein Obama has an aversion to taking credit for his abundant failures, lies, and criminal acts, B. Hussein did a credible job of describing just what his failures were in last night’s State of the Obamanation Failed Union Speech.
B. Hussein waxed eloquent on his description of how the Keynesian “Prime the Pump” stimulus theory of economics has failed without ever mentioning Keynes, quantitative easing, Fed Balance sheet, or economic stimulus.
It was a masterful slight of hand speech, worthy of B. Hussein’s reputation as a consummate lying, con-artist, (pardon the redundancy).
Now that Commie Obama has been forced to admit that Communism (Mandatory Universal Federal Medical Insurance Tax, aka Obamacare), Economic Stimulus, Fed-controlled low interest rates, scandals, recitative orders, and Constitutional violations have made the last 5 years a living Hell for The Middle Class in America, the question I have is as follows:
“Who in the RINO Wing of the Republican Party has learned NOT to repeat what B. Hussein has proven for 5 years to be failed Federal Government policy?”
