I’ve seen the production you cite. It is well done and worth the watching. I’ve yet to read the book.

TCM recently ran the 1995 film but I only caught a portion of the movie so I ordered it from Amazon. While waiting for it to arrive, I began reading the book HERE. The book delves much deeper into the various relationships, which then brings the film to life. I recently picked up a hard covered edition at a used book store for a fraction of what it would cost new. Do read the book. It will fill in many of the blanks imposed by time constraints in filming. Also interesting to note that 3 of Jane Austen's books were filmed in 1995 which strained the demand for period costumes.
