My facebook friend told me I should move to Georgia, seems like a beautiful place but I dont know anyone there..my two choices would either be Georgia or Texas..not all of California is bad, but unfortunately its so overrun by leftist whackos it cant be saved, not even by Reagan, he couldnt save this state if he were alive today
I lived in Texas in the 60’s. For me it’s just too darned hot. And too cold in the winter (lived near Fort Worth). And, truth be told, if there was no such thing as air conditioning, I wouldn’t live in KY. In Seattle, AC for your house was not really necessary. Here it is an absolute requirement. In your car, too.
But it’s amazingly green and beautiful here. And the roads! It is a motorcyclists paradise.
Georgia has a state income tax and high gas taxes.
Florida and Texas have no state income tax.
They do have a state income tax though.
In my travels, that just means another extra added layer of potential government corruption is in play.
But your friend was probably right to advise you to move there.
It's a nice place to transition to from a blue state, and learn that it's up to you to make new friends.
For myself, the choice was always either Florida or Georgia.
If I ever win a lottery, I seriously would consider moving north to south Georgia.
I guess Sean is following Beck.
I moved to Georgia from Texas. I was north of Atlanta. I couldn’t wait to get back to Texas!
I am on my way to escaping. Sold the house in SoCal in August and looking for property elsewhere. I’ll retire in about 2.5 years and leave for good. It sure is nice not paying outrageous CA property taxes anymore.
Move to GA. You’ll be amazed at how many are from your area. Geography & foliage is remarkably similar, but without the snow. Good business happening around Atlanta. And you can own anything you want.
