If this is accurate, it’s very revealing about Obamacare’s true goals

Earl forwarded me the following email, with the same caveat I’m giving you: I do not know if the data is accurate — and I’m not going to check. As with previous emails, I’m passing it along as is in regard to the facts. Of course, should you investigate these facts, or have first-hand knowledge about them, I’d be delighted if you’d share your information with us.

What Obama-Care is Really About?!

I’m a 54 year old consulting engineer and make between $60,000 and $125,000 per year, depending on how hard I work and whether or not there are work projects out there for me.

My girlfriend is 61 and makes about $18,000 per year, working as a part-time mail clerk.

For me, making $60,000 a year, under Obama Care, the cheapest, lowest grade policy I can buy, which also happens to impose a $5,000 deductible, costs $482 per month.

For my girlfriend, the same exact policy, same deductible, costs $1 per month. That’s right, $1 per month. I’m not making this up.

Don’t believe me? Just go to www.coveredca.gov , the Obama Care website for California and enter the parameters I’ve mentioned above and see for yourself. By the way, my zip code is 93940. You’ll need to enter that.

So OK, clearly Obama Care is a scheme that involves putting the cost burden of healthcare onto the middle and upper-income wage earners. But there’s a lot more to it. Stick with me.

And before I make my next points, I’d like you to think about something:

I live in Monterey County, in Central California. We have a large land mass but just 426,000 residents – about the population of Colorado Springs or the city of Omaha.

But we do have a large Hispanic population, including a large number of illegal aliens, and to serve this group we have Natividad Medical Center, a massive, Federally subsidized county medical complex that takes up an area about one-third the size of the Chrysler Corporation automobile assembly plant in Belvedere, Illinois (see Google Earth View). Natividad has state-of-the-art operating rooms, Computer Tomography and Magnetic Resonance Imaging, fully equipped, 24 hour emergency room, and much more. If you have no insurance, if you’ve been in a drive-by shooting or have overdosed on crack cocaine, this is where you go. And it’s essentially free, because almost everyone who ends up in the ER is uninsured.

Last year, 2,735 babies were born at Natividad. 32% of these were born to out-of-wedlock teenage mothers, 93% of which were Hispanic. Less than 20% could demonstrate proof of citizenship, and 71% listed their native language as Spanish. Of these 876 births, only 40 were covered under [any kind of] private health insurance. The taxpayers paid for the other 836. And in case you were wondering about the entire population – all 2,735 births – less than 24% involved insured coverage or even partial payment on behalf of the patient to the hospital in exchange for services. Keep this in mind as we move forward.

Now consider this:

If I want to upgrade my policy to a low-deductible premium policy, such as what I had with my last employer, my cost is $886 per month. But my girlfriend can upgrade her policy to the very same level, for just $4 per month. That’s right, $4 per month. $48 per year for a zero-deductible, premium healthcare policy – the kind of thing you get when you work at IBM (except of course, IBM employees pay an average of $170 per month out of pocket for their coverage).

I mean, it’s bad enough that I will be forced to subsidize the Obama Care scheme in the first place. But even if I agreed with the basic scheme, which of course I do not, I would never agree to subsidize premium policies. If I have to pay $482 a month for a budget policy, I sure as hell do not want the guy I’m subsidizing to get a better policy, for less that 1% of what I have to fork out each month for a low-end policy.

Why must I pay $482 per month for something the other guy gets for a dollar? And why should the other guy get to buy an $886 policy for $4 a month? Think about this: I have to pay $10,632 a year for the same thing that the other guy can get for $48. $10,000 of net income is 60 days of full time work as an engineer. $48 is something I could pay for collecting aluminum cans and plastic bottles, one day a month.

Are you with me on this? Are you starting to get an idea what Obama-Care is really about?

Obama Care is not about dealing with inequities in the healthcare system. That’s just the cover story. The real story is that it is a massive, political power grab. Do you think anyone who can insure himself with a premium policy for $4 a month will vote for anyone but the political party that provides him such a deal? Obama Care is about enabling, subsidizing, and expanding the Left’s political power base, at taxpayer expense. Why would I vote for anyone but a Democrat if I can have babies for $4 a month? For that matter, why would I go to college or strive for a better job or income if it means I have to pay real money for healthcare coverage? Heck, why study engineering when I can be a schlep for $20K per year and buy a new F-150 with all the money I’m saving?

And think about those $4-a-month babies – think in terms of propagation models. Think of just how many babies will be born to irresponsible, under-educated mothers. Will we get a new crop of brain surgeons and particle physicists from the dollar baby club, or will we need more cops, criminal courts and prisons? One thing you can be certain of: At $4 a month, they’ll multiply, and multiply, and multiply. And not one of them will vote Republican.

Obama-Care: It’s all about political power.

Now, do you see where we are going?

THE SUMMER OF 2014:
______________________
______________________

Today is the last watershed day for America, because it is the last chance for the US Supreme Court to exercise a Constitutional Check and Balance on the current rogue, tyrannical and oppressive Federal Administration.

Chief Justice John “Traitor” Roberts will probably again refuse to abide with the clear Constitutional Law, and again rewrite the US Constitution to his own liking, in similar manner to what Roberts did with the Constitutionality of the Obamacare Case when he un-Constutionally converted a legal fine into an illegal tax.

Today the US Supreme Court takes up the issue of whether or not an Administration can act without Congressional Approval on matters relating to personnel appointments.

The topic of bypassing the House on approving the spending of taxpayer’s dollars by the Administration will not be considered today, except tangentially, as the appointed personnel will be paid with taxpayer dollars, which would be a bypassing of the Constitutional Control of the Purse by the US House of Representatives.

We taxpayers view this as a clear cut case where we have “Taxation Without Representation” because our Representatives have not been part of the decision-making process.

Examples of a few Imperial matters of record include the following:
* Senator Reid’s Democrats recent voting to turn the US Congress into the US Parliament,
* Boehner’s refusal to appoint House Special Prosecutors for each of the Five Obama Administration Scandals,
* Obama’s four years of Imperial actions, and
* the recent history, ( Traitor Roberts’ Obamacare decision), of the US Supreme Court’s proven reluctance to provide their Constitutional duty of a Check and Balance on the other two Branches of the US Federal Government.

With the usual US Supreme Court private straw vote today that always follows the 30 minute Official Hearing before the Court, America’s future fate will be sealed, and later proclaimed between now and the Summer of 2014.

Either way that the NINE SUPREMES rule on this case, “The Summer of 2014” will prove to be the Summer that decided whether or not our Founding Fathers fought King George the Third of England in vain - - - .

The reason Obamacare puts a financial burden on people is because the healthcare industry needs a bailout.

Medicaid is expanded for the poor because these premiums that many are expected to pay may be too much for some people.

Requring everyone to buy health insurance and to buy higher priced health insurance is a revenue windfall for the health insurance industry.

Health care stocks have outperformed others in the past year in the inflated values of Wall Street.

Invest in health care stocks like hospital operators and so on if you want to bring in great earnings.

Because you "hoped" for a "change", and now you got it.

Actually, I think it is also about control over every element of our lives, and control over, what will soon be, 25% of the economy (weren’t the figures thrown out a few years ago in the 16-17% range?). If your access to health care and your very ability to receive health care, is completely in the hands of the government, your chance for life or death, wouldn’t you be inclined to vote in a way that would allow you the best options?

This is just another front of the war on America that has been promulgated by the one percenters for the past 100 years.

It is worse than he thinks. His girlfriend that gets the $1 policy also qualifies for subsidized copays and deductibles.

One misunderstanding on his part is that he thinks his premiums and deductibles are being cost-shifted over to these other patients. Cost-shifting is occurring due to risk pooling, but his girlfriend's cheap policy is coming from cuts to Medicare, taxes and fines.

It is a "6 of one, half dozen of the other" situation, but still important to know where we are getting a raw deal from the government.

Well, maybe the low information voters are finally figuring out that Obamacare is a redistributionist scheme.

I am a little under the yearly wages of this fellow except my health insurance has jumped exponentially to over $1200/month with a $5K deductible and I don't have any serious health issues. My disposable income has been wiped out paying for insurance because if I were to have a heart attack and survive, the medical costs would completely bankrupt me if I didn't have insurance. That is what Obamacare has done to me. My future savings have been destroyed and my level of living has been diminished significantly.

Only idiots and the evil voted for Obama, or ANY of the Democrats.
They've lied to us, constantly, and really are "Collapsing the System".
And now, these "Useful IDIOTS" who voted for them, are buying the lies that "Obamacare was designed to work." ?
It was designed to fail from the start.
THEN ... THEY GO TO THE "SINGLE-PAYER SYSTEM". They've been sucking our wallets dry for over four years now on the "Obamacare" LIE.
AND NOW THEY WANT MORE TAXES ?
Our Founding Fathers would have hung them already!

Lets review: So Democrats,
Sen Mark Kirk's statement Thursday, Dec 1, 2011 ... It's not our fault that DEMOCRATS raided the Social Security Trust Fund.
Let's remember ...

This is why Obamacare is far more popular than most FReepers believe. Very few folks on FR are getting the sweet subsidized deal.

It is intended to reward friends and punish enemies. The entitlement army won in 2012 and may be permanently in control.

I did not get that from his rant. Only the incredible difference that someone on the low side of middle class has to pay, as opposed to someone with a lower-than-middle-class income. While I am glad for his girlfriend, as the same rates would eat her whole income, what I see in this is the intent to incentivize people NOT TO WORK. THAT is the real issue. THAT is why, I think, the GOP is willing to pursue amnesty, because with so many people dropping out of jobs or reducing their income so as to benefit from almost zero rates, they still will need workers, and by that time, they will STICK IT TO THE BUSINESS owners, both large and small! Surely people can see this! This is not an unintended result, either!

I don’t understand why any politicians think illegal immigrants want to become citizens. They get WAY more rights and welfare than citizens with zero responsibility. How I would LOVE to live in the shadow and under the radar from government minders.

The real story is that it is a massive, political power grab.

In other news, dog bites man.

This is what it has been about, for me, since the idea was floated. It’s why I’m going insurance free. Starve the beast.

Our Founding Fathers would have hung them already!

We would have too but getting anywhere near 'them' with a rope is impossible. They are insulated and well protected. They know what they are doing and have designed rings of defense around themselves.
