Sky watchers shoud be alert for auroras on Jan. 9th when the cloud arrives.

Any idea how far south they will be visible? I would love to see them!

I don’t know if they can predict how far south they can be seen. But according to https://earthsky.org/space/sun-unleashes-x-flare, when talking about the best time to look for the northern lights from this flare: “ For us in the United States, that means you should look outside on the morning of January 9, between midnight and dawn. If you’re clouded out at that time, try anytime during the night of January 9-10.”
