Rural Idaho, most places will take your old California license and hand you a new Idaho license, the weather while cold in the winter is relatively mild during the summer, housing prices are still reasonable (except in border regions with Washington.)

Only problem is that medical care can be rather scattered and at rather high distances. If you are in an urban area of Idaho, things get a lot more weird.

How much ID will they require? The DMV here took the old one when I applied for a replacement, and before they mentioned the new requirements I needed, although I have the number memorized. Now all I have is a VA picture ID card (which is a valid Federal and Military ID, though not everyone seems to understand that) and postmarked envelopes to prove the mailing address. Or do I need to establish an address there as well? Will they also demand a Passport?
