The Liberal Politics of Destruction

To the progressive liberal, all politics is personal, which means several things. First is that any time and situation is a good place to push their ideological agenda. It can be at Thanksgiving, over Christmas dinner, or just sitting back and watching tv. "Wow, that receiver really got popped going across the middle to catch that pass. Thank Gaia that he now has ObamaCare in case he needs it." The other facet to the politics is personal is the act of destroying one's opponents on a personal level, not one based upon debating the merits of opposing viewpoints. While publicly decrying such measures, the left unabashedly commits them all the time, and they're emboldened by having a complicit media that will help them and shield them from any criticism.

As conservatives, we've had a front row seat to this character assassination for years. If you argue against affirmative action, then you're labeled a racist. If you stand up for the rights of the unborn, you somehow despise women (despite the fact that the majority of abortions involve female fetuses). We saw how the progressive liberals went, and still go after, Sarah Palin and her family. They've been called every foul name in the book and then some, and all for the crime for espousing conservative values. We just saw Phil Robertson of Duck Dynasty get raked over the coals for expressing his Christian beliefs. The perpetual outrage machine of the left sprang into action, but their plans have backfired as normal Americans are sick of these liberal politics of destruction. I still believe in an American character where we give someone the benefit of the doubt, don't leap to judgment, and realize that not everyone shares the same viewpoint, at which it's perfectly fine to reasonably debate them. There's a reason why our cities aren't burning or our streets filled with angry mobs at every election unlike other countries.

Of course, this American character (you can call it fair play if you wish) is a characteristic that is missing from the progressive liberal. They are not out to debate, nor to reason, or even to understand. They are out to destroy, pure and simple, and they will use any means to accomplish that goal. The latest incident involves how liberals trashed Mitt Romney over having an adopted black grandson. This occurred on an MSNCB show anchored by Melissa Harris-Perry. A picture was shown of the Romney family and she asked her guests to caption the photo. The human excrement guests, Pia Glenn and Dean Obeidallah, attacked the Romney family, saying that the black child was just a token. Everybody had a good laugh over their biting observation. In their twisted minds, a white person cannot adopt a black child without any ulterior motive. The fact of Christian charity or pure love never enters the equation in their sad, pathetic universe. Remember how liberals protested the movie, The Blind Side, where a rich, white family adopted a black teenager who then went on to the NFL? They cast dispersions upon the family in that movie as well, despite the fact that the adopted man has said that he was adopted because the family loved him and wanted to help him.

Still, in the progressive liberal mind, facts do not matter. In fact, they just get in the way. Time and time again, liberals prove that there is no level too low for them to stoop in order to smear and denigrate those they hate. I honestly pity them as I consider how empty their lives must be for them to act in such a manner, but my pity doesn't stop me from fighting back against them. In their minds, it's all for our own good as we're just too simple to know what's best for us. No matter how much they trash a person and their family, they'll immediately whine about civility when confronted over their own obnoxious behavior.

I agree that rage is the central characteristic of the left. They truly are destroyers, not builders. It saddens me to think what is missing from their lives that feeds that constant rage where they feel the need to impose their will on others. Still, they must be fought.
