Bland Bargain: Paul Ryan Surrenders On Federal Budget, Outfoxed By Former Pre-School Teacher
Confounded Interest ^ | 12/11/2013 | Anthony B. Sanders

Paul Ryan (WI-VR) and Patty Murray (WA-D) have announced a “bland bargain” on the Federal budget. The proposal would “restore” $65 million in automatic spending cuts currently in law and increase federal spending from $967 billion next year to roughly $1 trillion.

In other words former Vice Presidential candidate Paul Ryan was outfoxed by former pre-school teacher Patty Murray.

This will add $70 billion to Federal spending both this year and next. The result? The Federal debt load will be $25 trillion by the end of the next Presidential cycle.

What happened to the downsizing of the Federal government that Republicans promised? All bets are off on Republicans trying to control the Federal bloat.

This comes in the same week as the Democrats confirming an unqualified regulator for the two largest financial institutions in the U.S., Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.

Is Paul Ryan an ancestor of Pierre Laval, the former vice-president of Vichy France’s Council of Ministers from 11 July 1940 to 13 December 1940, and later as the head of government from 18 April 1942 to 19 August 1944?

Ryan’s stock is heading into the ground like an errant missile.

I have lost all respect for the man.

With the possible exception of Marco Rubio, I don’t know of anyone whose conservative cred fell off the edge of the earth faster than Paul Ryan’s.

John Boehner, Eric Cantor, Kevin McCarthy, Cathy McMorris Rodgers, Mitch McConell, John Cornyn, etc., etc.

If the Dims got to choose opposition leadership so as to have the most ineffective opposition possible, they couldn't come up with a better group than the aforementioned.

Sorry, Paul Ryan. I didn’t intend to leave you out.

Ryan is increasing spending and taxes.

He’s not a conservative.

Ryan should be deported.

Spending 65 billion more than the Sequester and give back savings less than half that over 10 years. Sounds like an old three card Monte trick that has been proven to be bogus in the past.

Ryan is an undocumented Democrat.

How about no more continuing resolution, force Reid to pass a budget and sequester limit budget deficits to no more than inflation.

Didn’t Ryan barely eek out his seat last election. He should lose it next time.

The GOP gave America RomneyCARE,
open borders, Obama, gay marriage, coming inflation,
and arming al Qaeda.

What difference does it make?

We're not even on the ropes and our "leadership" behaves like cheese eating surrender monkeys! The objective, I believe, is to pass something that Mitch McConnel, Lindsey Graham, and other RINOs can vote against. They desperately need a vote they can stand behind in 2014. We are being abused for the sake of politicking, and Ryan is just the stooge providing the vessel to do so. I am a Wisconsinte. I will not be helping Ryan get re-elected this next time around.

What difference, at this point, does it make? The dollar is worth little or nothing, anyway, isn’t it?

I agree, Ryan is the most over-rated politician I’ve ever seen. The sad thing is that people think he is a great conservative. I have no idea how they reach such a conclusion. He voted for TARP, the GM Bailout, Capping CEO bonuses, and the Bridge to Nowhere. C’mon people, pay attention, that goes for Limbaugh and Levin too. When are they going to denounce this guy, after he leads the passage of amnesty? Let go of your false political heroes.

I don't see it as a surrender.

I see it as a strategic retreat.

Give a little now, prevent a another shutdown, and the Repubs will sweep the House and Senate in 2014.

Hold out, defeat the budget agreement, cause another shutdown and all the gains made due to Obamacare will disappear.

The Repubs will be blamed and will end up losing the elections.

Patty Murry really was defeated, Ryan was victorious, unless "Conservatives" manage to f*ck it up.

Wow. Outfoxed by the dumbest person in the senate. Way to gain a legacy, there, Paul.

They didn't need this to prevent a shutdown. They could have let the sequester go into effect.
