Is bear spray prohibited there? I carry it everywhere.

It will stop anything. My mom used it on alligator in Florida. It quickly went back in the water.

Just a thouht:

If you are not alert and aware, no defensive mechanism will help much. The whole point of surprise is to nullify defensive measures.

Do not allow an unknown or suspicious person to be within 10 feet of you, Keep that defensive tool at hand, and the potential aggressor aware that you are aware. At 7 feet, let your defensive device be seen, maybe one of these:

- pepper spray, or
- bear spray, or
- mace, or
- folder knife, or
- small spray can of fluorescent paint, or
- small can of hair spray in one hand and a Bic lighter in the other, or
- metal mechanical pencil or pen
