If one accepts the premises of government schooling, this is simply what it to be expected. The head of the school is probably being graded, at some level, based on how well she pushes the pro-Islam agenda.

Much more often, parents of school-children should ask, “What is the educational purpose of this activity, and could it be accomplished more efficiently?” Viewing artifacts of another civilization could certainly have a legitimate use. If Ancient Egypt, why not historical or contemporary Islam? However, why not use a book, internet, or DVD to see potentially interesting things?

When I was a child in Southern California, we used to go on whale-watching field trips. What’s the cost/benefit on that, educationally? Maybe you see a whale, maybe you don’t. If you used a book, you’d see a whale for sure, and you could learn some specific facts about it, too.
