American Betrayal is a great book. I’ve been aware of some of the broader outlines of Soviet penetration of the west for years - Chambers, Hiss, Oppenheimer, Philby, Fuchs etc., but as she says, I didn’t know the half of the half of it. Adds new levels of meaning to “winning WWII”.

I attended the Pumpkin Papers Irregulars dinner this pas Halloween, heard her address, and even got to chat with her. Her knowledge of the history of Soviet espionage and policy sabotage in the US is quite impressive.
