So blares the revised headline from the Washington Times. When this story ran in the print edition, it was the headline story entitled Was SEAL Team 6 crash an inside Job? The sub-head screamed Families demand answers from the worst day of war in Afghanistan.
Excerpt:
Sith Douangdara, whose 26-year-old son, John, was a Navy expeditionary specialist who handled warrior dog Bart, said he has lots of unanswered questions.
I want to know why so many U.S. servicemen, especially SEALs, were assembled on one aircraft, he said. I want to know why the black box of the helicopter has not been found. I want to know...

Military combat aircraft do not carry a “black box”, i.e. cockpit voice and flight data recorders.
Bkmk
All of them plied in a flying studebaker from 1979 easy target and a quick way for those who were worried that thier lies and deceptions may leak out made sure they were all taken out in one fell swoop. You bet it was an inside job, I believed this from the first day I heard it!
I don’t see how it could have been done unless there was a suicide traitor inside the helicopter.
Admittedly I am not really up on how these operations work.

Same here. I thought that well before I heard anything from the victims’ families.
I dont see how it could have been done unless there was a suicide traitor inside the helicopter.

I am not up on such operations either, but my guess is there were mohammedans on the ground who were tipped off about when and where to start shooting at the aircraft.
True...but I’ve been amazed at how much of these special operations are recorded. Even dating back to Mogadishu, which was 20 years ago, for example:

And there have been a few high profile cases where there communications with a pilot were recorded (fratricide or civilians killed, etc.). I think its reasonable to expect that at very least there should be audio from the pilot...and that audio wouldn’t even be in an on-board ‘black box’. And, seeing that these were SEALS, its possible that even more was recorded. IIRC, they were supposed to have live video for the Bin Laden raid, but it failed.
Assuming it really happened as stated is a big leap of faith. With this administration, what is real, and what isn’t?
There is this, whatever “this” really is: propaganda; lies; distortion; moreless factual?
Excerpt:
“Lets say that Muhammad Bashir is telling the truth just for the sake of exploration. Could this also have something to do with the SEAL Team 6 Chinook crash that happened just 3 months later? Could the Extortion 17 accident have been an attempt to cover up what really happened with the Bin Laden raid?
“A lot of people have theorized as much, and if that helicopter really exploded at the Bin Laden compound that might give a little more credence to such a theory.
You are right, there are all kinds of video from military operations out there, but then, a Chinook is not the type of aircraft you bring into a hot LZ.

For reasons above my paygrade, the Chinook has been used extensively in Afghanistan. SOCOM even has their own version - the MH-47. So they’re doing more than ferrying cargo around with it....the very mission this thread is about concerns bring SOCOM troops into a very hot area.
I certainly don’t know whether or not there was audio from this flight...but I wouldn’t discount it out of hand.
