A lot of us are fighting for an education, battling inequality and marching for justice. Quit calling us lazy!

....... Im an early millennial, born in 1984, and when I started my education, I was able to attend a classroom that had gifted and special-ed programming in my neighborhood with an average class size of 20. Current millennials in Chicago, Detroit and Philadelphia are having sit-ins and organizing unions, as their schools are closed with class sizes of 29 called too small. When children are left crying at the end of the year because their schools wont reopen, what part of that experience tells them they are coddled and special? What does it say about America when its major urban centers would rather build stadiums than educate their future voters? What more does it say that it would rather point and laugh at the kids with stable high school educations and college possibilities who point cameras at their faces than talk about the ones who are trying desperately to graduate from schools that are more concerned with test scores than educating kids?.........

A good place to make a difference in your lives is to use all that "Occupy" energy and vote out the entrenched Democrat rule in blighted areas. Look where the Democratic Party has ruled for decades - that's where families, the economy and civil discourse has been destroyed.
Stop being useful tools for limousine liberals. Haven't you caught on yet that socialists always blame their failure to help you on others? Wake up! They're enriching themselves while deflecting your attention from their blood sucking tactics by having you march against other Americans.
Turmoil and hate help the Left gain more power. If you want to build a good life, let go of their control over your mind and rethink your misguided mission to destroy that which you aspire to.
I refuse to work my butt off so that the Government can tax me to fund these “schools” for others. Why should I pay to educate (I.e. Babysit) the children of others who are too lazy, or unwilling, to work. Not only am I “educating” these youths, but I am also providing 3 meals a day to them and their family.
When a majority of the tax paying middle class get fed up with working to support their family and “holder’s people,” the Liberal Utopia here in the USA will crash and burn overnight.
The article is getting some good push-back in the comment section.
WTF kind of name is “Sydette”?
Sounds like a cooking utensil.
Or some kind of Ob/Gyn hand tool.
Most millennials are moronicals!
This is a feminist writer with a very narrow view of things. She has a broader argument - but I focused on the big city/education part to make my point.
She certainly doesn't change that perception.
CW - I couldn’t resist and went and read the rest of it. “Our education, housing, healthcare and sexual autonomy are all in jeopardy”. OMG - even the smarter ones are clueless - they don’t possess the understanding that these are milestones and goals for the individual rather than group ones. I’m coming to the position that it’s impossible to fix things when no one even understands what’s wrong in the first place.
>> Im an early millennial, born in 1984,
When I was 19, I too knew more than I know now.
Err.. then I turned 29...
The comments are great. And it’s good to see them.
Typical socialist thinking.
Our education, housing, healthcare and sexual autonomy are all in jeopardy.
She makes it sound like all that is supposed to be a freebie.
Not only that, she makes it sounds as if any of the moronicals don’t reach those goals, IT MUST BE SOCIETIES FAULT!
Zero personal responsibility.
Zero understanding of the fact that sometimes, even if you work hard towards goals, you fail.
Her father, aged 51, is named Syd.
It didn't happen overnight. The Sixties "hippies" dug in and now they populate and run the education and journalism indoctrination schools (where unsuspecting parents PAY to send their children to learn how to hate their country). It will take some effort (and time) to turn this ship around.
The whole equality conversation has morphed into one of a continual state of retribution for past actions, which in itself is causing the issue fueld by the cic/congress/dems/minorities. People resent being held responsible for something they did not do...
Rush talks about this and how Obama hates this country and the founding. He talked about the continual victim mentality the other day.
Liberalism is a mental disorder.
Rush is usually right on the money, I just cannot stand to listen to him... :)
>>> .... When children are left crying at the end of the year because their schools wont reopen, what part of that experience tells them they are coddled and special? ...... <<<
More typical “all emotion, no brain” argument.
Does that Millennial want to know
(1) WHY the school won’t reopen? Where and How all the increased education funding goes? What activism and agenda those money was used on?
(2) Do children go to school to LEARN that’s the place to “get coddled and told they are extra special”? I rest my case.
