Listen, I understand that everyone is talking and writing about the government shutdown and the debt ceiling. I don't have anything to add to that discussion, other than that the dynamics of the situation have not changed materially since December of 2012, when I wrote “The Chicken Game” http://blastedfools.wordpress.com/2012/12/03/the-chicken-game/

I hope that House Republicans will stand their ground, but I don't have anything uniquely insightful on that and certainly not enough to rant for several paragraphs. So, excuse me for that and in the meantime, while we await what will probably be nothing more than a cease fire or a band-aid to be applied to the impending train wreck of our ever ballooning debt – may I at least provide you with my best attempt at following in the footsteps of that 20th Century icon – Paul Harvey.

There is a 'rest of the story' in the information unfolding of the Henry Hudson Parkway Outlaw Biker mob attack. I think you'll appreciate it, because with all the disgusting details of that situation that have been emerging, there is also some amazingly under-reported facts that we can draw inspiration from. I refer to the fact that there is a hero in the story.

Regrettably, no heroism was displayed by any of the individuals at the scene that had at one point, sworn to protect and serve the citizens of New York City, but there was one man without a badge, that stood up to the thugs and backed them down. I share his story as the culmination of the article with you in pleasure and admiration because discovering him neutralized some of the bile in my stomach produced by the rest of the human rubbish this story uncovers.

So... Five (or seven) were cops ?

Is that just in the one gang or both ? (Hollywood Stuntz and Front Line Soldiers).

Why didn’t they just name their gangs the COPS and the ROBBERS ?

as best as I can determine after reading and comparing the various media reports spanning the beginning of this month until now, the authorities have identified at least 5 officers who were present and did not report their involvement or presence until 4 days later, which would have been October 2nd, if their statements are accurate. As to which of the two Outlaw bike club / gangs they were affiliated with, probably as the cases go to trial, we will learn more on that.

The ‘Frontline Soldiers’ bike gang is predominantly a Black MC club, so perhaps there is some indication with respect to those individuals that have been arrested so far and their profiles. The NYPD and the NYC prosecutor’s office also indicates that the investigation is ongoing and that there may be more arrests forthcoming. I’ll be keeping an eye on the story.

One new and remarkable aspect to this, is that one of the officers arrested, Wojciech Braszczok, 32, was an undercover informant for NYPD during the Occupy encampment in Zuccotti Park, and whose reports on the protestors, enabled police to stage a surprise mass attack on the protestors, leading to a score of serious injuries and alleged civil rights violations.
