Singapore's live music start-up looks at regional growth

Singapore is not typically known as a hotbed for live music.

But one young entrepreneur saw an opportunity. Clarence Chan developed a search engine to connect music-lovers with gigs they enjoy.

He is now branching out, partnering with underground and international artists.

As part of our series on start-up businesses from around Asia, we spoke to Mr Chan about his venture in the city-state.

I don't see musicians flocking to Singapore, as their behavior could get them a beating with a big stick.

Mylie Cyrus would be black & blue before she could get out of there.

Rihanna had given a concert in Singapore a few weeks ago. Her promoters touted the show beforehand by leaking video of Rihanna visiting a sex club in Bangkok. I’ve visited Singapore before, it’s not as straight-laced as you would imagine it to be.

I’ll guess that she visited a sex club in Bangkok because there are none in Singapore.
